Rayon-Covered Wires
Our cables are braided with fine rayon filament, a cellulose-based fiber made from wood pulp. Rayon was the standard covering for early electrical cords throughout the mid-20th century, prized for its soft sheen and smooth, fabric-like feel. We use rayon not as a substitute for silk, but as the authentic, period-correct material that defined vintage fixture and lighting design. Each strand is sourced from a traditional rayon producer in Spain, known for its rich color and luminous texture. The result is a braid that looks and feels alive - supple, elegant, and unmistakably crafted.
